Whtz in store in d academic department? Done wth d last assgmnt & presentation. Hurrah! Now I'll be able to concentrate fully wth my dissertation & final exam. OH! & marking my undergrads' final pprs... I LOVE MY LIFE!

Haven't been kicking for awhile... I'm in sickville territory ;( oh! so not cool... a lot of things happened since my last post, unfortunately,I've forgotten most of them...must be all em' medicine... anyways, I've only 2 classes left wth my undergrads... another 2 sessions of lecture for my masters prog... 1 assignment + presentation... dissertation... final exam & last but not least, viva dolce... Itz already October...basically all ths will be over by end of ths yr. So near yet so far huh!
Gosh! The medicine not helping at all...I'm sleepy & tired all the time... next week today I'll be going for my Echo...my dearest heart, dont let me down ok!

KUALA LUMPUR 30 Sept. - Seorang peragut kecundang di tangan seorang gadis berusia 22 tahun semalam dalam cubaan meragut dompet mangsa.
Disebabkan keberanian gadis itu, penjenayah tersebut yang sempat dibelasah oleh gadis berkenaan berjaya ditangkap dengan bantuan orang ramai.
Kejadian berlaku kira-kira pukul 8.30 malam ketika mangsa, Dzil Falilah Abdul Rashid menunggu teman lelakinya di koridor kediamannya di Batu Caves Centrepoint di sini.
Dia yang bekerja sebagai pembantu pereka dalaman tiba-tiba didatangi seorang lelaki tidak dikenali.
Ketika ditemui Utusan Malaysia hari ini, gadis itu berkata, suspek tiba-tiba mencekik leher dan cuba meragut dompet dari genggamannya.
"Dia kemudian menendang serta menumbuk kepala dan paha saya. Saya pun membalas balik serangan itu sambil menjerit sekuat hati meminta tolong.
"Walaupun dompet itu hanya berisi RM10, saya bertindak melawan peragut itu kerana duit itu hasil titik peluh saya dan saya juga memang pantang dibuli," katanya yang lebam di kedua-dua lutut, paha dan kepala.
Menurutnya lagi, suspek kemudian melarikan diri ke motosikal yang terletak kira-kira 30 meter dari tempat kejadian tetapi dia bertindak mengejar lelaki itu.
"Saya tak sanggup melihat peragut itu terlepas begitu saja, jadi saya kejar dia dan terus menyerangnya. Peragut itu juga cuba menyelak baju kurung saya ketika kami bergelut kerana menyangka saya akan malu dan berhenti menyerangnya tetapi dia silap," ujarnya.
Dzil Falilah memberitahu, belum sempat suspek menghidupkan enjin motosikalnya, teman lelakinya tiba dan merempuh motosikal menyebabkan dia terjatuh.
"Ketika itulah orang ramai datang membantu menangkapnya sebelum polis tiba," jelasnya lagi.
Sementara itu, Ketua Polis Daerah Gombak, Asisten Komisioner Abdul Rahim Abdullah ketika dihubungi mengesahkan kejadian itu dan memuji keberanian gadis itu sehingga tertangkapnya suspek.
Katanya, lelaki berusia 20 tahun yang memiliki dua rekod jenayah curi dan dadah itu kini ditahan reman selama tujuh hari untuk disiasat sekiranya dia turut terlibat dalam jenayah lain.

...has been really fast for me. I have started collecting data, via classroom observation & interviews. Hopefully by next week I can proceed wth the data analysis. BUT thrz a prob. I'm NOT confident to analyse them! Ok, I'll worry abt tht next week.
...my family received a call frm our relative who resides in Tambunan. Our uncle was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital due to stroke. Tht was on the 7th sept, 09. Elder bro & mum visited uncle at the hospital tht same evening. The next day, eldest bro & eldest sis' turn. At 4.30pm, 09.09.09 we were informed tht uncle had passed away. So, eldest bro & I went to the hospital. My late uncle was dadz 3rd cousin. I remember uncle Jeffrine but I was never close to him. I do remember tht he was around whn dad passed away last year.
How did I feel being in the hospital again? It felt weird. I saw the morgue. I remember when dad was thr last year. It hurt. All the feelings I had last year on the day dad was pronounced dead, came crawling back.
When we were waiting for the body to be released, I was introduced to the uncles & aunties(uncle Jeff's siblings). They didnt remember me, bcs I was still a baby when their family moved. But uncle Jeff & his younger bro, used to visit us even aftr their family moved, so both of them, I remember. I eventually met my 4th cousins.
Mum insisted we attend the funeral in Tambunan. Hence, we were thr yesterday. The requiem mass went smoothly...& I met a few familiar faces. 1 of them used to be my former student. Now I knw, he is my cousin. The funny part was, so many ppl were confused on how both families are related! Well, thx to my Penampang greatgrandmum who got 'kidnapped' by a Tambunan chap, long long time ago :)
Honestly, I'm really glad tht I went for the funeral in Tambunan. The relationship between the 2 families will definitely continue...fingers crossed tht the 5th generation will keep in touch.
On the way back to Penampang, we stopped at TVRC. Eldest bro wanted mum to see the fish thr! Gosh! They were huge!
rm2.50 for a bag of fish food...we spent abt 5 bags!
